Tape Chuckinkg

We had a few hundred (3 pallets full) of old satellite data, which is now unreadable... the tape backing turned to goo, and it was unreliable. This basically meant that we had a room full of tapes to junk. And it was tape junking time.
Scoot shows off his photography skills by taking a picture of the floor.
Jim and Scoot contemplating tape chucking.
Myself, Steve and Jim moving a pallet full of boxes of tapes. (We had three pallets to dump.)
Jim walking next to myself and Scoot surfing on the pallet of tapes being pulled by Steve. Don't knock it. It was a lot of fun.

Steve is atop the boxes of tapes here, chucking them into the bin.
Scoot got really good at releasing pent up anger and agression on those old tapes.
A view from outside.
Steve had fun.
We tried doing 'streamers' where we'd hold onto one end of the tape, and chuck the platter into the bin. We got fairly good at it after a while. In order to do this though, we had to remove the protective rings around the tapes, so it was time consuming. ;)

One of scoot's cleanup attempts. He chucked a tape (which you can see a bit of in the top of the frame) which completely missed the immense trash bin.
When we started, you could see the bottom of the bin. When we finished, it was tapes as far as you could see.
Filled bin.
After tossing the tapes, we had to get the ones that either skipped out of the bin, or that we just plain missed. hehe.
Gathering up the tape as well.
Scoot having a grand old time. (No, he wasn't in the dumpster here yet.
Notice the similarity between my hair and the tape. It was windy.
We got bored and threw out Scoot as well. So he decided to make "Tape Angels"
